西北师范大学第二附属中学始建于1978年10月，是隶属于西北师范大学的初级中学，为兰州市示范性学校，我国著名教育家、原西北师范学院院长李秉德教授担任首任校长。

学校秉承“严、勤、实、恒”的校训，始终坚持“生态教育、同振共鸣、和谐发展”的办学理念，继承弘扬“自强不息、追求卓越”的办学精神，以引领甘肃基础教育发展、西部一流、全国有一定影响的精品学校为办学目标，发展师生潜能、培育健全人格，注重人文科技并重、艺术体育拓展，提高创新能力、开阔国际视野。

学校坐落在西北师范大学这所百年学府内，是大学教育教学改革和教师发展研究的基地，获评首批全国足球特色学校、全国心理辅导特色学校、全国小公民道德建设实验学校、中华优秀传统文化传承基地西部民歌传承示范学校。曾荣获甘肃省脱贫攻坚记大功奖励，获“兰州市教育系统先进集体”“兰州市教育质量优秀奖”“西北师范大学管理优秀单位”“兰州市艺术教育先进单位”“西北师范大学优秀基层党组织”等荣誉称号。

The Second Middle School Attached to Northwest Normal University was founded in October 1978 and is affiliated with Northwest Normal University. It is a distinguished junior high school in Lanzhou, with Professor Li Bingde, a prominent educator and former president of Northwest Normal College, serving as its first principal.
